Every man can transform the world from one of monotony and drabness to one of excitement and adventure.
Irving Wallace

Life has been an interesting ride for me. Born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia I grew up like many other country boys swimming in the lakes, playing sports and wandering the hills of the Appalachian Mountains. I was always in search of new adventures and over the years I played tennis, baseball, soccer and hockey and I have many fond memories of these days. There's so much to learn on the playing field. Sports provided an outlet for me to express myself, allowed me to burn off an endless supply of energy and most importantly, develop relationships with friends that would last for many years.

Eventually, I was no longer a young boy and life was pulling me in a new direction. West to be exact. Actually, what I really wanted was to get away, and any direction would have been great. In the end, it was my desire to be a soldier that brought me west to the land of big skies and endless prairies.

With little thought, I signed the dotted line and joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and soon my life would be changed. Early in my Army career while serving on a peacekeeping mission in Bosnia, I had a seizure and life from that moment on changed for me. I never considered my health up until that point because for the most part, when I would focus my mind on something, I would make it happen. Whether it was in sports, school, or the grueling demands of the Army, I found a way to be relatively successful and in the process, I learned to be pretty darn persistant!

The time after my first seizure was difficult and I struggled in many ways until I realized just how important it would be to take care of my health. This is what brought me to the fitness industry and ultimately into coaching. This was not a smooth road by any means, and I'm still learning, however I know that without epilepsy in my life, I would not be where I am today, and I would not experienced some of the things I have.

Because I live with epilepsy, I am fortunate that my experience has fostered empathy and compassion for others. As a father, I have the opportunity to demonstrate perseverance and self awareness for my children. As a coach, I can access my life experience to relate to you and the battles you are experiencing as you work towards your goals.

We all experience struggle in life. The lessons I have learned through these struggles motivate me to want to make a difference in our world. It’s also why I am so passionate about personal growth, health, fitness, nutrition and living fully.

I believe that the lessons learned through my darkest moments are similar to the lessons you will learn as you navigate the rough seas of transformation and I want to be there to help guide you towards calmer waters.

I wake up every day excited to support you on your quest to achieve your big dreams. It brings me great pleasure to share my love for fitness, nutrition, personal growth and adventure with you!

The journey to your adventure destination always starts with the first step, will you take it with me? I’d love to support you so that you can accomplish your life and adventure goals!
